My Chaotic Mind While Travelling

My Chaotic Mind While Travelling

Lately, I’ve been avoiding writing, and vlogging and many of the creative pursuits that usually bring me such clarity, grounding and joy.  I have so much whirling around in my head that every time I sit down to write I can’t seem to put an intelligible sentence together and vlogging…a short thought becomes forty minutes long and rambling. This has been going on since the summer.  Since I started travelling.  Perhaps my already chaotic thinking process has devolved with the…

Happy New Year 2019

Happy New Year 2019

2018 has been an incredibly busy year.  I have had a lot of amazing adventures and met some really fabulous people.  I dropped a few balls as I picked up others and have had time in December to reflect and decide what all I want to accomplish in 2019! The beginning of 2018 was filled with planning and preparation for the Blind Bucket List – an ongoing project.  I managed to go to Vancouver and talk with Dr. Weidong Yu…

A Story Inspired by Instagram Connections

A Story Inspired by Instagram Connections

I was on Instagram earlier today and came across a post by a friend.  A discussion ensued with another Instagram friend and it started my mind whirling.  When these things happen I can’t shake them off, I just have to write down the story, or at least part of it.  So here is the beginning of a story inspired by a random conversation on Instagram.   I walked into O’Leary’s at just after two that afternoon.  Sean was at the…

Ch-Ch-Ch- Changes

Ch-Ch-Ch- Changes

I’ve decided to make a few changes around here.  I’ve discovered that my posts on my travels, adventures and life as an RP’er are far more popular than the dry, more serious pieces.  I won’t stop writing them completely, but I will do less of them.  Saving them for when I discover something interesting that I think you would all enjoy or get something worthwhile out of. So, what’s new?  What will I be writing about?  I will be writing…

The Blind Bucket LIst – 18 June, 2018

The Blind Bucket LIst – 18 June, 2018

This has been quite a week!!  The time is passing so quickly and yet I feel like I have been back for ages.  The old familiar places are starting to look more like I remember them and new places are being discovered every day.  I’ve put miles on the old pegs and have the blisters to prove it, but it’s all been worthwhile. Monday, June 11th I spent the day writing and catching up on emails, as I mentioned in…

The Blind Bucket List – 11 June, 2018

The Blind Bucket List – 11 June, 2018

Blind Bucket List – Week One (May 30- June 11th) It’s been a little over a week since I arrived in Ireland, but I will keep updating my adventures on Mondays, and will still be bringing you an article every Friday while I’m away.  I was a bit late this week with the regular Friday article – it shouldn’t happen again, just a few hiccups in the adjustment period.  Jet lag set in last Saturday, but I think it’s finally…

The Bucket List Begins With a Detour

The Bucket List Begins With a Detour

The Blind Bucket List is getting off to a crazy start, but I’m finally in Belfast, Northern Ireland.  It is really important to keep your sense of humour and remain flexible while travelling.  It seemed to take forever to get my passport, then there was a threat of a pilot strike with the airline I chose, and then a flight detour due to inclement weather……It’s been an experience. I boarded the airplane in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and had a pleasant…

Vancouver 2018 – The Blind Bucket List Trip One

Vancouver 2018 – The Blind Bucket List Trip One

The Vancouver Trip Well, I’m back home after an amazing trip to Vancouver, B.C.  Vancouver is a beautiful city that is so accessible I just loved it!!  However, I am glad that I started with such a short trip and close to home because I learned a lot about travelling as a blind person that never occurred to me when I was fully sighted.  Planning will be the main key going forward.  Having maps and knowing where I’m going and…
